BURNING MAN IN NORTHERN NEVADA
SIXTEEN TEAMS WORK YEAR ROUND IN NORTHERN NEVADA. THEY FORM A CLOSELY-KNIT COMMUNITY THAT SUPPORTS BLACK ROCK CITY IN SUMMER AND FALL, AND MAINTAINS EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES DURING THE COLDER MONTHS.
AN OFFICE AT THE HEART OF IT ALL
The Gerlach office serves as the heart of our Northern Nevada operations. From here, staff coordinate the flow of humans, projects and information. It’s the first stop for anyone who is on their way to Fly Ranch for a Nature Walk or Stewardship campout.
BRC INFRASTRUCTURE STORAGE
All but one of our Northern Nevada properties exist to serve BRC event operations — it’s where we store and maintain BRC infrastructure year round. The one exception is Fly Ranch, which functions as a community incubator for innovation and culture.
A TESTING GROUND FOR SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY AND PRACTICES
To help advance Burning Man Project’s sustainability goals, the teams in Northern Nevada are moving most operations off fossil fuels. Renewable technology used in Northern Nevada during the off-season is then deployed to BRC.
